Restful • Intentional • Deeply Formative

A school shaped by truth, wisdom, and the unhurried work of formation.

Scholé Academy exists to create a learning environment where children are known and supported, challenged appropriately, and given space to grow at their own pace. By combining the structure of classical education with the flexibility of Montessori-inspired learning, we cultivate students who think deeply, communicate clearly, and are prepared for life.

Our Philosophy

“We combine the structure of classical education with the flexibility of Montessori-inspired learning, creating space for each child to grow deeply, confidently, and with purpose.”

Two on-campus days each week are dedicated to direct instruction, discussion, small-group learning, and hands-on engagement.

At-home days provide time for practice, reinforcement, reading, assignments, electives, and enrichment.

Skill-based grouping and multi-age classrooms support both challenge and flexibility across the learning journey.

Our Vision

An education that is restful, rigorous, and deeply human.

At Scholé Academy, we believe education should be unhurried, intentional, and rooted in truth. We are committed to cultivating a learning environment where children are seen clearly, guided wisely, and formed patiently.

Rather than forcing every student into the same pace, we make room for growth that is responsive, personal, and purposeful. Students are supported where they need help, challenged where they are ready to advance, and formed within a culture that values depth over hurry.

This vision extends beyond academics alone. We aim to develop students who are capable, thoughtful, grounded, and prepared for life, not merely students who can complete assignments quickly.

Our Approach

A classical foundation with developmental wisdom

Classical Structure

We guide students through a developmental progression that builds strong academic foundations, logical thinking, and clear communication. This structure creates coherence and purpose across the learning experience.

Montessori-Inspired Learning

We honor how children naturally develop by allowing flexible pacing, emphasizing hands-on and engaging learning, and focusing on mastery instead of speed.

Skill-Based Instruction

Students are grouped by skill level within subjects rather than strictly by age or grade. This model provides support where needed and challenge where appropriate, helping each child progress with confidence.

Family Partnership

Scholé Academy is designed as a hybrid partnership with families. On-campus days center on direct instruction and shared learning, while at-home days extend practice, reinforcement, and elective exploration.

Learning Phases

Four intentional phases of growth

Students move through four phases that reflect academic development, maturity, and readiness for increasing responsibility.

K–3

Awaken

Awakening a love for learning

In the earliest years, students are invited into the joy of learning through strong foundations, gentle structure, and an atmosphere that builds confidence.

Focus: Phonics and reading foundations, basic math skills, handwriting development, curiosity, and confidence.

4–7

Deepen

Deepening understanding and independence

As students mature, instruction expands in depth and consistency. Learners begin taking greater ownership of their work while strengthening comprehension and expression.

Focus: Reading comprehension, structured writing, math mastery, and growing independence.

8–11

Strengthen

Strengthening thinking, communication, and leadership

Upper-level students are increasingly challenged to think critically, communicate clearly, and develop the habits of leadership, organization, and responsibility.

Focus: Critical thinking, writing and communication, note-taking, organization, and leadership development.

Final Year

Launch

Launching into life with wisdom and readiness

The final phase prepares students for adult life with practical wisdom, meaningful responsibility, and opportunities to apply their learning beyond the classroom.

Focus: Real-world skills, financial literacy, civics and government, communication, responsibility, and capstone projects or internships.

Core Academics

A coherent curriculum for deep learning

Scholé Academy centers its academic program around Mathematics, Reading and Writing, Science, and History. Each subject is supported by curriculum chosen for mastery, engagement, and developmental appropriateness.

Mathematics

Math instruction is mastery-based through Math-U-See, allowing students to progress by demonstrated skill rather than by grade-level pacing.

Science

Science is hands-on and experiment-based through Sonlight Science, with greater emphasis on analysis, writing, and lab reporting in the upper levels.

History

History is taught chronologically and narratively through The Story of Civilization, integrating biblical and world history in a whole-group setting with level-appropriate assignments.

Language Arts

Language Arts includes All About Reading, All About Spelling, IEW writing instruction, and handwriting development that transitions toward note-taking and written expression.

Writing and Thinking Development

Students progress from learning to read, to writing clearly, to thinking critically. This progression is intentional and cumulative, helping students build both expression and understanding over time.

In the upper levels, instruction emphasizes structured writing, note-taking strategies, organization, and communication. These habits prepare students for higher-level academic work and thoughtful participation in the world around them.

Electives

Electives are family-directed and flexible, allowing students to pursue their interests in ways that complement the school’s academic rhythm.

These may include art, music, athletics, foreign language, and other creative or practical skills that enrich the life of the student and support whole-person formation.

Weekly Rhythm

A hybrid model built for intentional learning

On-Campus Days

On-campus days are focused on direct instruction, small-group learning, discussion, presentations, and hands-on activities. These days establish the shared intellectual culture of the school and provide the personal guidance students need.

At-Home Days

At-home days are designed for practice, reinforcement, reading, assignments, electives, and enrichment. This rhythm allows learning to continue in a calm and purposeful way while strengthening the partnership between school and family.

Multi-Age Classrooms

Students learn in multi-age environments that encourage collaboration, build leadership, and allow flexible pacing. This structure creates a sense of shared community while giving students room to grow according to their actual readiness.

What Makes Scholé Academy Different

A restful approach with meaningful rigor

Scholé Academy offers a restful, unhurried learning environment where depth is valued over hurry and mastery is valued over mere completion.

Students benefit from skill-based instruction rather than rigid grade-level expectations, allowing for both support and stretch in the right places.

Subjects are integrated for deeper understanding, hands-on learning is emphasized, and strong academic formation is paired with real-world preparation.
